Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Leren , how would you best describe yourself?
Our readers would love to get to know you more Leren . Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I'm an all round creative nut, I design and make, upcycle and recycle (this is very important to my brand) I started out working in a small room in my 1st house over the last 8 years I've worked for many Creatives on a freelancing basis helping with styling, photography, sewing lessons, art direction and make up. My journey is all about expressing and getting to know my creativity. I love to push boundaries and get stuck in with new challenges.
What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Leren ?
I would love to have my shop again, and this is 100% going to happen, I'm a determined person and feel very passionate about this. I'm currently in the middle of regarding and setting up a new label which is launching later in the year. For me, the only way to progress is to continue pushing my creative boundaries.
How do you communicate with people Leren ? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I'm an outgoing, bubbly person, and my clients always get that vibe from me. My client's needs are so important to me, so we always work together in making sure there needs are met. I'm patient with all my clients and will always advice them with the best of my knowledge. I get such a buzz from helping people and seeing them succeed so everything is always well executed.
If you had to do it over again, what would you change Leren ?
Nothing, my journey has been a huge learning experience, so any mistakes along the way have only contributed to me pushing myself as a creative person. We have to make mistakes, how else do learn?
Who is your hero Leren , and how have they helped you get to where you are?
Coco Chanel, generic I know but it's not just because she was a brilliant designer. She was empowering and raised the bar for women around the world. I love women who are empowering and sassy. My daughter is also my hero, she keeps me motivated and focused.
How important are creative education courses Leren ? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
Very important, I think the educational system should focus more of there resources on creative courses and lessons. Art brings peace and unity; it's refreshing and so important to life.
Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
