"Patience and friendly behaviour go a long way, of course - but never give up on your modelling dreams."
Model Citizen Media provides a platform to recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.
Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far. When I an on the runway or in front of the camera I feel really alive - modelling is my true fashion. What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field? I have already established myself as a model in Vancouver, British Columbia and am ready to go on international assignments. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? I think I have an inborn gift to respond quickly and accurately to what a shoot or a designer needs. If you are not patient and friendly you'd better not choose modelling as profession - it is mandatory to be patient and friendly in this job. If you had to do it over again, what would you change? I would take the same path all over again. Who is your hero, and how have they helped you get to where you are? In the modelling world, my hero is Adriana Lima. I admire how she managed to build herself from a determined girl in Brazil into a modelling star without connections but through a hard work and perseverance. It's too easy when your mom is a model and you already have connections, isn't it - the real thing is when you make it on your own:) How important are creative education courses? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful? Extremely important, I am a University student at the moment, and am balancing my studies with modelling and a part time job. Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry? My tip is never give up and never believe you are not good enough. Patience and friendly behaviour go a long way, of course - but never give up on your modelling dreams.
