"Work harder than hard, and be more different than different enough."

Model Citizen App is the platform where we recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.

Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far. I wake up to be different, and different is what I will be. It is with my fashion choices, whether it be for myself or other people, that I have most significantly been able to show this to the world. I aim to affect people in the way that they find themselves taking a double-take, staring, thinking, and/or talking about my work, and I hope my style inflicts wonder onto other minds, minds as fashion-obsessed as me or not. My style excludes nothing and includes everything. Experimentation is the key to my passion. What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field? My goal is to one-day be exposed to high fashion as a career. I wish to continue styling personally, for clients, for publications, etc. as well as take my creative skills to the next level in the world of fashion editorial. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? As cheesy as it may sound, I communicate with people the way I wish more people communicated with others, the way I wish to be communicated with. I am not perfect and still young and learning, therefore I am not always the greatest version of myself that I could be. However, I try my best to encompass as many positive traits as possible. I am very empathetic, and therefore it harder than not for me to be unpleasant, rude, or unthoughtful. I want to make your day, your week, your year, even if you don't intend to do the same. If you had to do it over again, what would you change? Nothing. Nic. Nada. Niente. That's "Nothing" in every language I know how to say "Nothing" in. I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. This means I am where I am now, and know what I know now because of past experiences...positive or negative. Who is your hero, and how have they helped you get to where you are? My mom is my hero. She brought me into the world...DUHHHHH...and has helped me in every facet of it with love, selflessness, wisdom, care, humor, and her overworked hands that she would give to me in a heartbeat if I needed them. In the context of fashion, she has allowed my creativity, style, and variety of work to flourish by working so hard to make sure I had any clothing, shoes, accessory I needed to complete my fashion visions(which I still have today). She was always okay with working extra hard for my benefit instead of her own. One day...I WILL repay her for it all. But how does one truly repay someone with the title of a hero? How important are creative education courses? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful? Creative education courses are very important though of course, they are not necessary for success. Even if one thinks they are a creative genius, courses that push one to think and work harder than they already do can produce unexpected results in a character. Even courses that do not hit ones point of interest on the dot are beneficial as the skill and knowledge gained can be impressive and used to differentiate the individual in the future. I currently attend The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC as a Communication Design major so creative courses are nothing new to me, but they are always of value. Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry? Work harder than hard, and be more different than different enough.
