"By being a real person and having flaws myself, I hope to reshape the way people see models."
Model Citizen App is the platform where we recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.
Tell us about yourself: Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career?
From the time I was a child, I knew I wanted to be a model and an actress. I was constantly called ugly and fat, and made to believe I couldn't pursue my dreams. Eventually I developed an eating disorder, and my life started to go downhill from all of the pressure to be "perfect". A few years ago, I started getting my first jobs in the modeling world and I haven't stopped since.
How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken?
I have chosen not to study right now and really focus on my daughter and being a freelance model and actress.
What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?
I believe anyone can be a model. If you're dreaming about it, do it!
What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?
It's my goal as a model to help young girls change the way they feel about themselves and have more confidence. By being a real person and having flaws myself, I hope to reshape the way people see models.
How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I am a very open and friendly person. I do my best to never judge others, and always have empathy for others. I am open to clients requirements and long as they don't go against my moral code.
Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym?
I eat a very clean diet. Lots of water, no soda. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week.
What is your dream role as a model?
Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?
Obviously everyone has their limits. I would have to discuss the project with the client and go from there.
State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours?
I love to travel, and am available any time to do so.
