"Whether it was attending dance classes as a little girl or learning to play the piano or attending acting classes or just observing people, I have been surrounded by art my whole life and my love for art has grown. "
Tell us about yourself: Hello! My name is Urszula Makowska. I am a fashion blogger, fashion stylist, social media influencer, actress, and social media coordinator. I was born in New York City, and I currently reside in New York City. Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career? Whether it was attending dance classes as a little girl or learning to play the piano or attending acting classes or just observing people, I have been surrounded by art my whole life and my love for art has grown. Art and fashion are what defines me. I have grown for a passion for this industry since day one. All of these creative and talented individuals in this industry are the individuals I have grown to admire and love. They have inspired me to the point that they have made me who I am today and they have led me to where I am today. Their true talents have made me want to be a part of their talent and my talent. I love being a part of their work of art and I have never been more happy to see myself in different forms of art. How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken? Education is extremely important, but an individual does not need a modelling education. Modelling comes naturally whether its through walks or emotions. However, education is still important. Aside to being a social media influencer, actress, and fashion blogger, I have completed my bachelor's degree in visual merchandising. I continuously want to keep educating myself because education and knowledge enrich you. With every new thing you learn, there are great benefits that come with it. For example, finishing my degree in visual merchandising has taught me a lot about the fashion industry since this is a career in fashion. I have learned the business perspective of the fashion industry, and this deals with a lot about modelling a fashion designer and fashion companies. I know what they look for especially when it comes to models. Besides for completing a degree in fashion, I also took acting classes. It was always my dream to make it big on the screen, but this also benefits my career as a model. I can portray my emotions, but also live outside the box. I am not afraid to be who I am or to take risks in life. What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model? Modelling is more than just a “pretty face” or “being tall” or “being thin”. Looks, personality, motivation, confidence, charisma, self-assurance, and always being ambitious make someone fit to be a model and to succeed as a model. What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field? My ultimate goal is to use my career as a model to open my modeling and acting agency. I’ve always dreamed of being an entrepreneur. What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology and photography? Since I work in digital marketing and social media, I know that digital marketing and social media is surrounded by advertising and photography. Ideas are created and brought to life. Consistency and brand image are vitally important. It is important for brands to be consistent and maintain their brand image. This how they choose the models for their advertising campaigns. They need models who are consistent and fit their brand image, but models must able represent the brand outside of advertising. You are a part of the brand and you are their face. It is important to be responsible and always give 100%. When it comes to photography, of course, Photoshop exists. This is not meant to be negative or offend anyone. Photos are retouched and enhanced to sell the brand because as a model you are selling the brand. How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements? Communication is extremely important. The way you deliver your messages and the way you are as a receptor form your relationships with other people. To form and maintain the best relationships, communication is important. As a communicator, I am easy to understand, and I always listen. My messages are clear and consistent. I am always professional. When it comes to communication, I also accept criticism because it only makes me a stronger person and it helps me turn my weaknesses into strengths. I am also a very patient person, and I am very friendly, but I always remain professional because the way you behave influences you and your image. I am also very open to completing clients’ requirements because I want to make my clients happy, but I also want to make myself happy. Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym? Eating nutritiously and healthy and exercising are the only options in this industry. Body image is a big issue in this industry and starving yourself is never the right or healthy option. It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle balance. I tend to eat nutritiously and healthy. Fruits and vegetables are always my options. I also love to exercises and go to the gym. I tend to work out everyday, and I feel amazing about it. What is your dream role as a model? As a model, it is my dream to influence the fashion industry, myself and my audience and fans. I want to make a change and make an impact. I want to prove that being a model does not mean all you have to do is have a pretty face or the right body. I want to break society’s standards. There is more to that. I may be short, but I will strive in this industry. Regarding myself, I want to prove to myself that I did it. I am the successful woman that I always believed that I would be and saw myself as. I want to show myself how far I have gotten. Regarding my audience and fans, I want to inspire them and show them follow their dreams and never to give up. If they want to be a model or a doctor or a television star, they can do it too. They need to work hard, but they will make it as long as they try and put in all their effort. Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request? Everyone has limits. When it comes to working in this industry, I choose to accept requests where I can grow, but also expose my talent and gain exposure. I always weigh the advantages and disadvantages. I would never accept modelling requests from the adult entertainment industry. I understand and respect those women that do, but since I am a brand, this would harm my brand and brand image. I would also never choose to accept a modelling request that goes against my morals. I am a strong believer and would never want to hurt feelings. State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours? I love to travel. Every new city, every new state, every new country is always a new adventure, and there is always a new experience waiting out there. Every new experience brings new opportunities for you to learn something new and each new experience brings new connections into your life that will only benefit you in the long run. Each new connection and each new experience that you make bring in more new experiences and new connections because of the opportunities available. This is what we call networking, and this is important in every industry whether it is the fashion industry or not. To answer the question, yes I would travel, and I have travelled. I have been grateful to every place that I was able to travel to, every person I was able to meet, to every opportunity that was available to me, and to all the memories that I have created. I would love to work full-time and travel non-stop, but I would also love to always have time for my family and myself. Family always comes first, and they are important to me. My relationship with myself is also important because I love myself and I want to have a healthy relationship with myself. Tell us what's your memorable experience so far. Every experience is memorable. I have learned something new from each experience whether it is my career as a model or about myself. Therefore I choose all of them. Favourite photographer? Favourite makeup artist? Favourite designer? Favourite hairstylist? I truly believe all of the photographers, makeup artists, designers, fashion stylists, and hairstylists that I was able to work with are talented individuals and each of them has their individual style that I truly love. I am grateful to have worked with each because they have helped me get where I am today. Each of them is a gem! Booking information: Instagram: instagram.com/urszulala Email: UrszulaMakowska@aol.com
