Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.

Tell us about yourself: Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career?

Hi, my name is Ammer and I am 25 year old. I was born in Thailand and moved to Japan to study and now in Sydney. Life is such a journey which there is no final destination. However, during the way we learn and we found who we are. I never thought I could be a model but during my journey across the countries, I found myself that I like being taken photos, presenting fashionable outfits and can be different from others. Modelling is an honer job which I can feel that I am important and recognised. It's motivating and creative which I can be who I am rather than being a company employee who just follow the instruction and never been noticed. Also, this job bring me to be connected to great and creative people around the world. There is one story that was very memorable. When I went to Egypt for traveling, I walked trough local village in Cairo. I was very scared because everyone was starling at me like I am a stranger, well I was... However, thing changed! There was a girl came to me and asked me to take a photo with her. After that 2, 3, and more people came to take a photo with me as if I was a Hollywood star! Seemingly, seeing young Asian people in local place in Egypt was very rare and they were excited. I totally understood how Justin Bieber felt when there were many paparazzi hahaha.

How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken?

I never take any modelling course at the moment. However, I agree that class will help us develop posing and walking skills as well as health of models which are very important for models. Education is never useless. It is a fundamental thing for every job. Actually, I am thinking about to take a course someday.

What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?

Being a model is more than just being "fit". Of course, appearance is important as we are representative, however body language, passion and personality are necessary for models as well.

What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?

Being a recognised model in big market such as Paris, Milan and New York is my goal for now. In the future, I'd like to see myself being a world's famous brand ambassador since apparently there are few Asian models are selected for this. I believed Asians will be a big target in fashion industry in the future and I'd like to have a spot there as a successful model.

What do you know about the advertising industry?

I majored in social linguistic where I learnt how to use verbal and non- verbal language in society and certainly in advertising as well. It is very powerful method to attract people to consume a product. First impression is 95% of decision. Thus, Just one great caption and great photo can make people buy a product. This is why we work hard to create something great and attractive.

How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?

I think I am one of the most friendly person in the world as I barely argue with anyone. I am always be a good listener first before say any opinion and I believe that this is very effective to make others listen and also make trust and good connection each other.

Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym?

I am on fitness programs at the moment. I eat more carbohydrate and protein regularly because I have fast metabolism. Also, I eat fruits everyday and take fish oil regularly. I go to gym 5-6 days a week to gain more muscle. I am pretty sure that I am very healthy at the moment.

What is your dream role as a model?

Probably a model for some famous wristwatch brands just because I love watches :) it would be fun!

Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?

At the moment, just nudity that I am not accepting. It's not because I am shy to show off but I think It is not my style and it's more attractive to majority of people when we wear something at leat underwear :)

State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part time? Any hours?
