"Treasure those precious, unique moments, which occur once in a lifetime."

Model Citizen App is the platform where we recognise fashion models, photographers, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists, creative directors, bloggers, stylists, and labels around the world. Every day, we feature an individual on Model Citizen Interviews. People get to know each of them - their hopes, challenges, aspirations and inspirations in life.

How did you get to where you are now in your career?

I worked for a well known studio here in the Philippines for 6 months and then I left the company. I felt that i was just a photographer in that studio doing things by the book. i want to be an artist not just a photographer so I decided to quit and do things my way. Shoe Box photography was born :) I don't take pictures, I make photographs.

How did your education prepare you for the future?

I graduated with a diploma for a computer technician. Back in college i had my first DSLR camera which I still have. Since then I explored the world of photography. Took photos for campus events, family occasions and took photos of my everyday college life.

What person has been your inspiration in life? Who is your hero?

My mom :) She's a single parent who takes care of everything for me and my brother. She was the one who bought me the camera. She supports me in what I do for a living.

Do you feel like you’ve met your goals and are successful?

Not yet, I feel that there is still a lot of things to explore, learn and experience in photography.

If you had to do it over again, what would you change?

Taking fine arts or a marketing major in college. Being a self thought photographer/entrepreneur is a challenge but through God nothing is impossible.

What advice would you give someone who is young and wants to have a position such as yours one day?

Learn your craft, experience will be your best mentor, be proud but humble and don't quit. Don't stop learning and listening.

How do you stay inspired?

Faith, Family and Photography. Those three things are the reason why I keep on moving forward and not planning to stop.

What photography related things do you recommend?

I recommend using a DSLR for this type of camera will give you wide range in enhancing your craft in what ever kind of photography that you will pursue.

How can people reach you for a job? And how would they know your rate?

For a complimentary consultation, please contact me and treasure those precious, unique moments, which occur once in a lifetime.

What's your favourite camera?

Nikon D7000 because i own one :) but I'm planning to get a Nikon d700.

Tell us something very interesting while working with a model.

Well working with different models are very challenging for they have different unique characters. This one model who I worked for a school ad, was very interesting because it was her first time so it took a while for her to be comfortable working with me because I looked like a goon. So what I did was I pretended to be gay. Walk and Talk like a gay guy working in a salon!
