Today, we are featuring an aspiring fashion photographer, who has been exploring expression through the lens of his camera. Please read her amazing interview below, learn from it and let the world know about her by sharing this post.
How did you get to where you are now in your career?
I got to where I am by simply getting out and shooting every chance I get. I also put myself in as many situations I can where I can network with as many people as I can.
How did your education prepare you for the future?
I have a Degree in marketing. So, my education taught me how to market myself to get business. I also use my marketing skills to help promote the people I work with.
What person has been your inspiration in life? Who is your hero?
My inspiration in life was a lot of people. But, mostly I have a cousin who constantly pushes me and even though we live 2000 miles apart he still pushes me every chance he can either by reminding me to get out there or by how he lives his life. As for a hero I don't know that I have one there are people I admire like Bill Cunningham and Vivian Maier
Do you feel like you’ve met your goals and are successful?
No, not at all, goals are an ever changing thing. They evolve and grow as we learn and as we grow as people. You set goals to give yourself a direction of where you want to go.
If you had to do it over again, what would you change?
I would have started a lot sooner. I didn't start photography until I was in my 30s and I think to myself everything I've seen in my life that I only have a memory of and how much I would love to have an image to share.
What advice would you give someone who is young and wants to have a position such as yours one day?
Get up and get going. Do what it takes to get where you want to go and never let anyone, no matter who it is, stop you. One thing I learned is that those who are closest to us can be the biggest obstacles
How do you stay inspired?
A lot of my inspiration comes randomly it could be from a movie, a TV show or just something I see.
What photography related things do you recommend?
Shoot everything, look at old photos and throw out the rules. They won't help you push buttons. Turn dials until you get something you love.
How can people reach you for a job? And how would they know your rate?
The best way to reach me is though my website, there is a link to my email. My rates vary by project so just tell me what you are looking for and we'll go from there.
What's your favorite camera?
Canon is my favorite brand. Right now I'm using the 6D. I also collect Polaroids
