"I think I'm pretty quirky, friendly and straightforward when it comes to communication, and I have been told by many people I have worked with that it makes them more comfortable but I think it's just my quirky personality."
Why do you want to work as a model? Why are you interested in modelling as a career?
Hi, I'm Maddi, and I lived and modelled in Japan for five years, and I just moved back to the USA! I'm 18 and just graduated high school. I am experienced in photo shoots, runways and commercials. I want to work as a model because it makes me happy and it has made me very confident in myself throughout the years I've done it. I'd like modelling to be my career because I feel like I can get somewhere with it, and I would have fun doing that!
How important is modelling education: Have you attended modelling courses? What related courses or studies have you taken?
I never took any modelling course or anything like it, I've been told I pose naturally and that it's a talent that photographers like.
What do you think makes someone “fit” to be a model?
What are your goals as a model? How do you see yourself progressing in this field?
I think that anyone can be a model if they tried. My goal as a model is just to have fun with it and make friends along the way :)
I see myself growing as a model every day and every shoot I do!
What do you know about the advertisement industry, advertising psychology and photography?
Well in my school I took a marketing/business class, worked at a graphic design office in my town, and I took photography for two years and AP Studio Arts, so I think I'm pretty well-rounded.
How do you communicate with people? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I think I'm pretty quirky, friendly and straightforward when it comes to communication, and I have been told by many people I have worked with that it makes them more comfortable but I think it's just my quirky personality. I'm very patient; I have to be with two younger siblings. I am very open to clients' requirements because I know that some things must happen to make a shoot amazing and possible.
Do you eat nutritiously? How often do you exercise or go to the gym?
I eat healthy as often as I can, but I always find myself drinking soda a day. I usually eat two meals and snack throughout the day. Surprisingly I haven't been to the gym in years, and I got a C in gym class. However, I do plan on starting to exercise; I won't always be able to depend on my metabolism.
What is your dream role as a model?
I don't have a dream role. I just want to keep modelling; it made me open up and blossom. Before modelling, I was so shy and always kept to myself, but now I am more confident and outgoing!
Do you have any limitations? How do you define your boundaries when choosing to accept a modelling request?
My only limitation is nude shoots; I just don't feel comfortable enough to do that.
State your availability: Would you travel? Work full-time, part-time? Any hours?
I travel, but it just depends on the payment. As for my working time, I just graduated high school this year so I work whenever I can. Before I left my weekends available but now I can be open to shoots during the weekdays.
Tell us what's your memorable experience so far.
My most memorable experience is when I did a televised runway for hair in Japan as the primary model for the hair salon I was representing. It was the most hype runway I've done so far and the adrenaline was amazing!
